  • Holiday bin collection dates

Breckland residents are being encouraged to check they know when their bins will be collected over the festive period.

A number of revisions are being made to the usual collection calendar in light of the series of Bank Holidays over Christmas and New Year (Click here for a full list that you can download or print).

As a result, households will need to put their bins out on a different day than usual between Christmas and mid-January. There are no changes to the bin collection schedule prior to Christmas, with the normal collection schedule due to resume on Monday, 18 January.

During the holiday season, when people may find they have more rubbish than usual, households are also being reminded that they can take their extra waste to one of the local recycling centres. Locations details at: www.breckland.gov.uk/content/recycling-centres-2.

Extra recycling will be collected from the kerbside on recycling collection days, if it is left next to a recycle bin, unbagged and in an unsealed cardboard box. A list of materials that can be put in the recycling bins is at: www.breckland.gov.uk/recycle-right.
