    The date of the next Parish Council Meeting is Friday 8th June at 2pm at the Community Centre, this is a change the the usual meeting of the first Monday of the month.

    The July Parish Council meeting will be Monday 2nd July at 7.30pm at the Community Centre.

  • Necton celebrates Volunteer Stars at its Community Spirit Awards 2018

    Necton Parish Council hosted their Community Spirit Awards 2018 at the Annual Parish Meeting on 25 April 2018. Cllr Nigel Wilkin, District Councillor for Necton, presented the awards.

    Five local people were nominated by residents for their special and unique contributions in helping other residents, local groups and generally making Necton a good place to live.

    Bernard Bell for his tireless work and fundraising efforts for the old village hall committee,
    Derek & Kim Woodbine for their many years’ energetic commitment to Necton Sports & Social Club,
    Jill Luongo for her life-long volunteer involvement in all things Necton,
    Jenny & Tony Smedley for their massive efforts for NSAG (Necton Substation Action Group),
    Georgie Bell for her many years of dedication to the Merle Boddy Centre in Swaffham.

    All of these people have given their time, energy and enthusiasm for the benefit and enjoyment of others and the Parish Council is delighted to recognise their contribution to life in Necton.

    Based upon the number of nominations, two of these people stood out as this year’s Community Stars – Bernard Bell and Jenny & Tony Smedley. In recognition, they each receive a small gift of vouchers for a meal at The Windmill, Necton.

    Community Spirit Awards is an annual event run by the Parish Council and nominations for next year are welcome.
